Privacy policy

This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, loads nothing from a third party and asks you for nothing. This page explains the one category of data that still exists — ordinary web server logs — and what your rights are.

1. Who the controller is

The controller of any personal data processed through this website, within the meaning of Article 4(7) of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679, is:

We are not required to appoint a data protection officer and have not appointed one. Data protection enquiries go to the address above and are handled by the director of publication, Jennifer Bell.

2. The short version

We deliberately built this site so that there is almost nothing to write a privacy policy about.

No cookies of any kind, including “essential” ones.
No analytics, no measurement, no heatmaps, no session recording.
No advertising pixels, no conversion tags, no remarketing, no fingerprinting.
No localStorage, sessionStorage or IndexedDB. The JavaScript on this site contains no storage call at all.
No third-party requests: no web fonts, no content delivery network, no remote images, no embedded video, no social buttons. Every file the page loads comes from this domain.
No contact form, no newsletter, no account, no login.

Because we place nothing on your device and read nothing from it, the consent requirement in Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive is not triggered, and there is no consent banner here. There is nothing to consent to. Our cookie policy explains how to verify all of this yourself in your browser in under a minute.

3. What we do not do

To be explicit, since these are the things sites like this one usually do: we do not build a profile of you, we do not track you across websites, we do not sell or share personal data, we do not enrich data about you from brokers, and we do not pass any identifier to an advertiser or an affiliate network from this site.

One thing to understand about partner links

When you click a link marked “Partner link”, you leave this website and arrive at a third-party advertiser or affiliate network. At that point you are on their site and their privacy policy applies, not ours. They will very likely set cookies and record the click, which is how the commission is attributed. We cannot control that and we do not pretend to.

What we do control: our pages pass through only campaign parameters that were already in the address you arrived on (such as a utm_ or click-identifier parameter present in the URL). We do not generate an identifier for you, and we do not attach anything to the link that was not already in your address bar. If you would rather not be counted, simply do not follow the link — nothing on this site requires it.

4. Server logs

This is the only personal data processed by us, and we would rather describe it accurately than claim a zero that is not true.

Like every web server on the internet, the server that delivers this site records each request in an access log. It does this in order to deliver the page to you at all, and to keep the service secure and working.

The single processing activity carried out by this website.
Data	IP address, date and time of the request, the address requested, the HTTP status returned, the number of bytes sent, the referring address if your browser sends one, and the browser’s user-agent string.
Purpose	Delivering the requested page; detecting and mitigating abuse, attacks and malfunction; diagnosing technical faults.
Legal basis	Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in operating a functioning and secure website. We consider this interest not to be overridden by your rights, given the short retention period and that the data is not used to profile, analyse or market to anyone.
Retention	Access logs are rotated daily and retained for 14 days, after which they are deleted automatically. They are not archived, exported or aggregated.
Recipients	Nobody, other than the hosting provider that operates the server infrastructure as our processor. Logs are not shared with advertisers, networks or analytics providers.
Automated decisions	None. There is no profiling and no automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects.

We do not read these logs to learn anything about individual visitors, and we have no tool that would turn them into visitor statistics.

5. If you email us

There is no contact form on this site — deliberately, because a form would collect data and break the promise above. If you choose to write to us at info@pravia.online, we process what you send in order to answer you.

Data: your email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in replying to correspondence; or Article 6(1)(c) where we must keep the message to comply with a legal obligation.
Retention: for as long as needed to deal with the matter, and then deleted. Correspondence relating to a correction is kept for up to two years as a record of the editorial process.
Recipients: our email provider, acting as a processor. We do not add your address to a mailing list, because we do not have one.

6. Recipients and international transfers

We do not sell, rent or share personal data. The only third parties involved are the hosting provider and the email provider, each acting as a processor under a contract that complies with Article 28 GDPR.

We do not deliberately transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area. Where a processor would involve such a transfer, it takes place only on the basis of an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Links to other websites

This site links to third-party websites, including the advertiser we earn commission from and the sources we cite. Once you follow a link you are on somebody else’s website, governed by their privacy policy. We are not responsible for their practices and we encourage you to read their policy before providing them with anything.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to request access to your personal data (Article 15), its rectification (16) or erasure (17), restriction of processing (18), data portability (20), and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (21). Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time — although we do not rely on consent for anything on this site.

To exercise any of these, write to info@pravia.online or to ASSURITY s.r.o., Na Folimance 2155/15, Vinohrady, 120 00 Praha 2, Czech Republic. We answer within one month, extendable by two further months for complex requests, and we will tell you if we need the extension. Exercising your rights is free.

A practical limitation, stated honestly

Server logs contain an IP address and nothing that identifies you by name. If you ask us for a copy of your data or its erasure, we can only act if you give us enough information to find the records — in practice, the IP address you used and the approximate time. Under Article 11 GDPR we are not obliged to acquire additional information purely to identify you, and we will not try to. In most cases the honest answer is that the log entry has already been deleted by the 14-day rotation.

9. Complaining to a supervisory authority

If you believe we have handled your personal data unlawfully, you may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state where you live or work, or where the alleged infringement took place. Our lead authority is:

We would appreciate the chance to resolve the matter first, but you are under no obligation to contact us before complaining.

10. Children

This website is general-audience editorial content and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly process personal data relating to children, and since we operate no account, form or tracking of any kind, there is no mechanism through which a child could provide personal data to us.

11. Changes to this policy

If our practices change, this policy will be updated and the date at the top of the page will change with it. Because the site collects nothing, we expect changes to be rare. If we ever introduced anything that placed information on your device, we would have to obtain consent for it first, and we would say so here prominently.
